It is up to him to accept or reject it, Welgama said, adding that it was unpleasant for him to see the ongoing drama in parliament.

His colleague Anura Priyadarshana Yapa said the best solution to this constitutional crisis was to go before the people at a general election.

Meanwhile, former speaker Chamal Rajapaksa said that had he been the incumbent speaker, he would not have convened parliament in the present scenario, until the court decision was given.

Sending a letter to the speaker, UPFA MPs ask him to stop publicizing the Hansard for November 14, 15, 16, 19, 21 and 23, saying the sittings on those days were not conducted in accordance with the constitution, standing orders and parliamentary traditions.
