Anandi willing to resign if asked by Vigneswaran Featured

Anandi Sashidaran says she will relinquish her position as the women and children’s affairs minister of the northern province if a request came from chief minister C.V. Vigneswaran.

Her offer comes in the wake of the court of appeal suspension of Vigneswaran’s removal of several provincial ministers, after considering a petition filed by former provincial minister P. Denishwaran.

Since the province should have five ministers only, Sashidaran says she is willing to resign in order to resolve the dispute.

Previously, when a no-confidence motion was moved against the CM, she sided with him in breach of a decision by her ITAK party.

Vigneswaran removed Denishwaran and several others from their ministerial positions over accusations against them.
