It was ordered that the Controller of Immigration and Emigration be notified of the travel ban and that the Thalangama Police OIC implement the summons.
He is facing charges of having obtained Rs 300,000 as an advance for holding a musical show and committing an act of fraud by not holding the said musical show.
A complaint made to the police said that Rajiv Sebastian had made a promise to conduct a musical show under the name “Saramba” at a hotel site in Wennappuwa on August 04, 2017. He had also intimated to the organizers that reputed Artistes Sunil Perera, Annesly Malewana and Desmond de Silva would participate at this event and accepted an advance of Rs 300,000.
However as the show was not held, Sebastian had given the organizers a cheque for Rs 300,000 which had bounced, said Tersian Christy Rathnapriya of Nainamadama, an organizer of the musical show, in his complaint to police.
The complaint was investigated by a group of Wennappuwa Police officers on the directive of the Wennappuwa HQI L.B. Abeyratne. Attorney Dilani Wasana appeared on the instructions of Attorney Lalantha Sarathchandra.
