The orizuru represents the Japanese red-crowned crane and according to Japanese culture, it is believed that its wings carried souls up to paradise.
After folding and decorating origami cranes daily for 1000 consecutive days, Origami enthusiast Cristian Marianciuc is back after a well break, unleashing a new wave of creativity.
"I am allowing myself to explore more themes and techniques, and to find inspiration in even more places," he has posted on Bored Panda.
According to him, some of his latest creations are inspired by things like Greek mythology and Japanese folklore, while others come from the joy of nature, or personal experiences.
