Term of PCoI probing UL extended again

The tenure of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) on irregularities at SriLankan Airlines, SriLankan Catering and Mihin Lanka has been extended till Feb. 15, 2019.

President Sirisena, on Feb. 02, 2018 signed the Gazette appointing the PCoI to probe alleged irregularities that took place at SriLankan Airlines, SriLankan Catering and Mihin Lanka from January 06, 2006 to January 31, 2018.

The PCoI was initially given a term of six months from January 31 to July 31. On August 01 President Maithripala Sirisena extended the term of the PCoI by five months till December 31, 2018. Now it has been extended again till February 15, 2019.

Retired Supreme Court Judge Anil Goonaratne, Court of Appeal Judge Gamini Rohan Amarasekara, retired High Court Judge Piyasena Ranasinghe, retired Deputy Auditor General Mallawa Arachchige Don Anthony Harold, Director General of the Sri Lanka Accounting and Auditing Standards Monitoring Board Wasantha Geeganage are the members of the Commission.
