Trinco fishing restrictions lifted

(Srilankamirror) – Fishing restrictions in the outer-harbour sea area in Trincomalee were lifted yesterday (June 20), said Eastern Province governor Rear Admiral Mohan Wijewickrema.

The fishing restrictions had been in force to prevent LTTE activities in the Eastern seas.

With the lifting of the restrictions, fishermen are no longer required to obtain passes for fishing in the northern sea area.
