Speaking during a practice session at Premadasa Stadium, he has said that he will focus during the next few months.
Earlier, former Sri Lankan skipper Tillakaratne Dilshan has said the current captain Mahela Jayawardene may have to lead till the 2015 World Cup in order to provide sufficient time for a successor to be groomed.
Speaking, Mahela said that though the present situation is alright, no one can predict what it will be in the future.
However, I will do my level best for the team and the country, he said.
All players are doing their bit extremely well. The batsmen and the fast bowlers put ample pressure on the Pakistan team, he further said.
