Rain washes out 03rd ODI

(Srilankamirror) – Rains allowed only 6.2 overs of play in the third ODI between Sri Lanka and Pakistan at the R Premadasa Stadium yesterday (June 13), leaving the series level at 1-1.

Though an early shower forced the covers to be back on soon after Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat, the match began on time, only to be halted just after one ball was bowled.

Covers were taken off several times but the match was finally abandoned.

The weather also made it unable for 34-year-old left-arm-spinner Sajeewa Weerakoon, making his debut seven years after his first national call-up, to either bat or bowl.

Scores
Pakistan 12/2 (6.2 overs)
(Mohammad Hafeez 0, Azhar Ali 07, Asad Shafiq 05*, Misbah-ul-Ha 0*, Lasith Malinga 1/09, Nuwan Kulasekara 1/03 )
