(Srilankamirror) – Police are searching for a car driver who had been involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident in front of St. Anthony’s Church at Kotahena, Colombo.
A woman, aged 32 years, and an eight-month-old baby girl were wounded when the vehicle crashed into a makeshift hut sheltering devotees to the church this morning (June 14).
Both died at the Colombo National Hospital.
Meanwhile, a bus carrying schoolchildren fell down a precipice on Kegalle-Polgahawela road, injuring 37 children and three adults.
The bus had tried to give way to a car carrying a newly wedded couple, when it had fallen down the precipice.
