‘Julampitiye Amare’ had only 5 arrest warrants – police
(Srilankamirror) – G.G. Amarasiri alias ‘Julampitiye Amare’ had only five arrest warrants against him when he surrendered to the Tangalle high court, said police spokesman SP Ajith Rohana.
They were issued by the Tangalle high court and Walasmulla magistrate court.
The arrest warrants relate to a 2005 setting fire to a three wheeler in Middeniya, a murder in Weeraketiya in 1998, attempted murder in 1997 in Weeraketiya, abduction of a 16-year-old in Weeraketiya in the same year and the 2002 Tangalle prison break.
‘Julampitiye Amare’ is now accused over the murder of two JVP supporters at Katuwana in Hambantota last week.
