Hemamala replaced

(Srilankamirror) – Air hostess Prasadi Samarakoon has been chosen for the role of Princess Hemamala in the film ‘Siri Daladagamanaya’, ‘Srilankamirror’ learns.

Prasadi also appeared in the music video of Iraj Weeraratne’s song ‘Daesa Themila’.

Prasadi was chosen to replace 2011 Miss Sri Lanka winner – Pushpika Sandamali de Silva, who was initially selected for the role.

However, producers then had second thoughts due to Pushpika’s semi nude photographs splashed across the internet.

It was also said that giving her the role of Hemamala, which is a respected character in the history of Buddhism, would be disrespect to the religion.

However, reports say that many artists who were named for the film had resigned.
