Govt. to commence 2013 budget preparations

(Srilankamirror) – The government is to commence work for preparing the 2013 budget next month.

Treasury Secretary Dr. P.B. Jayasundera said the preparation work for the 2013 budget would commence in July while the management team has already commenced preparatory work.

He noted that the President has already commenced the consultative process and is traveling around the districts as well.

According to Dr. Jayasundera, the Finance Ministry would work on this line during the month of July.

He observed that the government would arrive at a theme for the 2013 budget after completing the initial process.
