FMM concerned over ‘Ceylon Today’ sackings
(Srilankamirror) – The FMM has expressed concern over the ‘Ceylon Today’ management’s sacking of ‘Ceylon Today’ editor/editorial director Lalith Alahakoon and head of graphics department Wasantha Siriwardena.
In a statement, FMM secretary Sunil Jayasekara says both have been removed without following the proper procedures.
The FFM requests the Sri Lanka Newspaper Publishers Association, the Editor’s Guild and other stakeholders to arrive at a common policy through a dialogue regarding editorial independence and rights of the publishers.
