Decision on Senaka Silva request on June 26

(Srilankamirror) – The Colombo high court will on June 26 will decide whether to allow Sarath Fonseka aide Senaka de Silva to go overseas for treatment.

Through his lawyer Upul Jayasuriya, retired Capt. De Silva requested judge Sunil Rajapakse to release his passport for him to leave for Singapore on July 02.

State counsel Damith Thotawatte objected to the releasing of the passport, noting that the accused has been given bail by the court of appeal, and not by the high court.

The court was taking up a petition against Messrs. Fonseka and de Silva, in which both stand accused of harbouring 10 Army deserters and inciting them against the state.
