Beach with no sea


(Srilankamirror) – We’ve all heard of landlocked seas but a beach tucked in between lush green meadow topped with golden sand and fresh cool seawater?

Though it seems like a place out of a fiction or a fantasy movie, ‘Playa de Gulpiyuri’ is exactly that.

Located near the charming town of Llanes, on the northern coast of Spain, Gulpiyuri Beach is just 100m away from the coast.

Despite being completely hidden from the open sea, Gulpiyuri Beach is actually fully tidal and even has waves bathing the small strip of golden sand.

In a coastal cliff rock limestone was creating a sea cave and into the back of the cave collapsed, (a phenomenon karst known as sinkhole), leaving a small hollow circle of about 50 m in diameter.

The shallow crystal clear water of this place acts as a tempting swimming invitation and this magical place is popular spot among tourists.
