Ranil to submit a Sri Lanka report to IDU
(Srilankamirror) – Opposition leader Ranil Wickremesinghe is due to submit a report on democracy in Sri Lanka to the International Democratic Union executive committee.
The IDU ex-co meeting began in Wellington, New Zealand yesterday (May 27) under the chairmanship of former Australian premier John Howard.
Mr. Wickremesinghe is a deputy chairman of the IDU, which will this year elaborate on democracy in Sri Lanka, South Korea, Belarus and Russia.
Following the conclusion of the meeting tomorrow, he is due to meet with Mr. Howard as well as New Zealand prime minister John Key.
International affairs secretary of the UNP Sagala Ratnayake is also taking part in the IDU meeting.
